LaGrange, Ohio, September 21, 2005 Inservco, Inc. is pleased to announce that it achieved top honors in a year-long quality improvement competition conducted by Philips Medical. Inservco participated in conjunction with Philips Medical in the application of the Six Sigma methodology to improve performance since 2003.
Three "Green Belt" projects had been implemented yielding excellent results across all customer products including Philips. The goal to reduce the defective parts per million (DPPM) by half for three consecutive years gave Inservco the first prize in the annual Quality Improvement Competition at Philips Medical in 2005, a competition typically only involving internal Philips divisions. Inservco continued applying the Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing concepts, reducing the DPPM by half once more in 2006. Inservco’s ultimate goal is to achieve Six Sigma levels. As a result of the implementation of these Green Belt projects, Inservco realized total cost savings of $123,420 in 2004, $759,640 in 2005 and $491,000 in 2006.
Inservco’s high quality services and products have been developed through its commitment to Continuous Improvement Teams, implementing several Lean Initiatives through innovation on the manufacturing floor, producing impressive results in First Pass Yields and the reduction of warranty returns.
