    Lean Manufacturing - Continuous Improvement

Inservco is dedicated to helping our customers maximize their value by implementing its own unique version of the Toyota Production System tailored to fit the needs of a EMS Contract manufacturing company. Our continuous improvement program is dedicated to eliminating waste in all areas of the process, working to reduce cost and providing the customer with a high quality product at minimal expense.

Our program is a true top down approach; championed by the President/CEO and facilitated by a Lean expert with a vast array of experience in all areas of Lean implementation. Our program focus is on utilizing the core Lean tools:

  • Transactional Process Improvement
  • KPI - Key Performance Indicators - Posting Measurable

  • VRK -Variation Reduction Kaizen
  • SMED - Changeover Reduction Kaizen

5-S: Kaizen method used to organize work areas in both shop floor and office environments for improved Sales, Delivery, Quality and Inventory Management

Standard Work: Basic Lean Tool to implement the most effective process for manufacturing; focuses on implementing one-piece flow, production cells, develop playbooks, Inventory at Point of use, etc.

Transactional Process Improvement: Lean tool used to improve office processes and includes some standard work and variation reduction. Focus is to improve the "front end" of the process; purchasing, production scheduling, accounting, etc. Identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the company

Key Performance Indicators: Process to drive improvement by posting key business metrics across all functional areas to drive improvements by measuring performance against goals

Kanban Inventory Management: Lean tool used to manage the purchasing, stocking, location, of both components and finished goods. Ensures the needed material is on hand when needed, but also helps to minimize exposure to ECO/ECNs as well as product obsolesce. Helps minimize our turn around time from customer order to delivery.

Variation Reduction (VRK): Kaizen event used both on shop floor and in office to reduce variation in a process for quality, uptime, productivity, delivery, etc.

Single Minute Exchange of Dies: Kaizen event used to help minimize total change over time focuses on eliminating all waste and "noise" in the process. Improves utilization and machine efficiency.

Inservco has a well established training program and certifies its employees to the requirements of IPC-A-610C. We have invested in an extensive IPC training library to assist in further enhancing our employee skills. Employee training and skill levels are monitored by our Human Resources and Quality organizations. A cross training matrix of employee skills and qualifications was established to ensure required skills are available to support our customers' current and potential surge requirements.
